It is wonderful for cutting fresh or can be left to provide winter interest in the landscape. It is a beautiful background plant for a mixed border. It also makes a sensational hedge. Anywhere you use it this hydrangea is a winner.
Hydrangea 'Fire Light' is an easy, low maintenance shrub. Provide average well drained soil and plenty of moisture in full sun to partial shade. It is not as water dependent as some varieties of hydrangea, and once established, will tolerate drought better. 'Fire Light' can be pruned in late fall or early spring because it blooms on new wood. The spent flowers can be pruned off after blooming or left until the spring for winter interest.
