Salvia is a workhorse in the sunny garden. It is easy care, critter resistant and produces masses of colorful flower spires from late spring into early summer. ‘Violet Riot’ Salvia will be a mass of vivid violet blue flowers with deep purple calyxes from late spring into early summer. Compared to older varieties it has a much denser habit, a more concentrated show of colour, and a neater habit.
Salvia ia an easy perennial to grow in most gardens. It likes full sun and is quite drought tolerant. Deadheading the spent flowers will encourage rebloom from the side shoots. When all bloom is finished cut it to the basal rosette. It will often bloom again although not as prolifically.
