Garden Phlox are one of the mainstays in the midsummer sun garden providing beautiful, fragrant blooms that last for many weeks. This new hybrid Phlox will bloom even earlier, starting in early summer and continuing for many weeks with sporadic rebloom right up to early fall. It boasts lovely, light lavender pink flowers. The dark green, glossy foliage is mildew and disease resistant, an improvement on older varieties of Phlox that don’t hold up as well in the heat and humidity of summer. Plant these in an area with good air circulation and plenty of sunshine. All summer phlox attract butterflies and other pollinators.
Phlox needs rich, well drained soil that does not dry out to look its best. It is a heavy feeder so a fall mulch with compost is beneficial to keep up the organic level in the soil. The varieties we sell have good mildew resistance but do not overcrowd this plant. It needs good air circulation.
