The Mini Gallery Lupin series are compact, early blooming lupins with lots of flower power. The two-toned violet-purple and white blossoms of Lupin Mini Gallery 'Bicolor' are tightly-packed and sweet pea-shaped blossoms and invite pollinators to their nectar-rich spires. Flowers in this series appear two weeks earlier than other Lupines. No staking needed.
Grow Lupines in full sun or light shade. They require rich organic soil with slight acidity and good drainage. They thrive in cool climates, and find it difficult to survive when we have extremely hot dry summers. Applying mulch around the root zone will help to keep the roots cool and will protect them over the winter. Deadheading spent flowers will prolong the bloom time, but since they are short lived perennials it is wise to let some seeds set and scatter them to keep the planting going.
