The deep violet-purple flower spikes of 'Hidcote' Lavender fill the air with their sweet, intoxicating fragrance all summer long. Though this cultivar has been grown for over 50 years, it remains one of the most popular today. Its compact habit and relatively short stature makes it a good choice for edging. It is very similar to 'Munstead.'

Growing and Maintenance Tips
Lavender will thrive in the hottest, driest site in the garden. Poor gravelly soil that is very well drained will produce the best results. Trim the plant to shape it in the spring after new growth has begun. Evergreen boughs placed over the plant after freeze up will trap snow and help with winter survival.
