Coneflower

Echinacea 'Sombrero Blanco' is a member of the superb Sombrero series of Echinacea. The pristine white blossoms have larger coppery cones and are produced from late spring into fall.  Its fantastic sturdy, compact foliage and tight bloom stalks add to its appeal. With their long bloom time, Echinaceas make a great choice to replace annuals in beds, mass plantings, and in butterfly and cutting gardens.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Coneflowers are the ideal perennial for hot sunny sites. Plant them in shade and they will flop and produce very few flowers. Loamy, well drained soil in a slightly elevated bed is ideal to produce the best bloom and winter hardiness. Heavy soils can lead to winter rot. Leave the seed heads to stand for winter food for finches and other birds.
