Coneflower

Echinacea 'Green Twister' offers a unique and eye catching colour combination. The outer edge of the petals are yellow-green and bleed into a pale, lilac-pink in the centre, surrounding a bronze cone. ‘Green Twister’s’ petals curve gently forward giving them a decidedly different look that adds to its allure. This plant is well branched resulting in lots of blooms. Coneflowers are a magnet for butterflies and are excellent flowers for cutting.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Coneflowers are the ideal perennial for hot sunny sites. Plant them in shade and they will flop and produce very few flowers. Loamy, well drained soil in a slightly elevated bed is ideal to produce the best bloom and winter hardiness. Heavy soils can lead to winter rot. Leave the seed heads to stand for winter food for finches and other birds.
