Thread Leaf Coreopsis

A classic perennial, 'Moonbeam' is an excellent performer with bright lemon-yellow flowers produced in profusion from early through late summer. The airy clumps of fine, needle-like foliage on upright stems provide a  stong contrast to coarser leaved perennials. The colour of 'Moonbeam' compliments nearly every other plant in the garden. Coreopsis is one of the easiest perennials to maintain and is a good choice for beginners. The verticillata species is particularly long-lived, has a longer flowering time, and demonstrates better drought tolerance than others in the genus.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Coreopsis is native to North America. It is an easy care plant requiring average soil, plenty of sun and good drainage. Dead heading regularly will encourage more bloom and shearing after the first round of flowering can encourage another flush of flowers.  It is quite tolerant of poor soils, including rocky and sandy soils. Crown rot can occur if it is grown in moist, poorly drained soil.
