Calamintha 'Marvelette Blue' has large, striking, purple-blue flowers on upright spikes. This plant is terrific for edging a border or growing along a pathway. The flowers are very attractive to butterflies and many other pollinators. The foliage has a delightful minty fragrance. Easy and reliable, this does not spread around like regular mint. Clumps may be easily divided in early spring. This plant often benefits from a hard clip back in late July, to rejuvenate it.
Calamintha is a very easy plant to grow and is adaptable to a wide range of conditions. It will easily tolerate poor soil and dry conditions. It can be clipped back in August to freshen the plant.
