Aromatic Aster

The sky blue flowers and attractive blue green foliage makes this a beautiful addtion to the late summer border. Exhibiting a compact and mounding habit, it is densely branched and grows 30-60 cms tall and can spreads to 90 cms wide. The  foliage is sticky and releases an herbal aroma when rubbed, making this aster less palatable to deer and rabbits. It is an excellent source of nectar for butterflies and bees.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

'Ocrober Skies' thrives in full sun in dry to moist, well-drained soil, but will bloom even in a part sun site. The plant’s spreading habit and densely foliated branches make it a useful ground cover at the front-to-mid border or fronting a taller shrub.
