About This Daylily
Taking the opposite bend from so many perennials that are bred for compactness, ‘Steeple Jackie’ was bred to make a statement in the landscape with its towering 5 foot tree-like pillar of blooms in late summer and early fall. Trumpet-shaped, fragrant, light canary yellow flowers are produced in clusters of 3-4 on 7-way branched scapes carrying a whopping total of 55-100 buds apiece. The scapes rise high above the clump of slender, green leaves. This plant is a designer’s dream because it fills a niche in the back of the border that few other perennials can this late in the season. Be sure to try this one – it’s unlike any daylily you’ve seen!
