Growing and Maintenance Tips
The growth habit of 'Aoi' is irregular and upright but it can be easily maintained in a tight, compact form through yearly candle pruning. Most sources list it as a Zone 5 but it has proven to be hardy in our area as long as it is located out of open windswept sites. It requires well drained soil in full sun.
