Larix decidua ‘Puli’ is an elegant alternative to the common Larix d. ‘Pendula’. When staked, its slender branches create a narrow silhouette that is more dense and lighter green than ‘Pendula’. At the point it is no longer supported by a stake ‘Puli’ branches spread out slowly along the ground and make an effective ground-cover. It is very attractive in gardens with an Asian aesthetic. It is best grown in full sun.
Weeping Larch is quite adaptable to a range of soil types but does need constant moisture. It will require regular watering during the growing season unless it is growing in a very damp site. I t is not drought tolerant and will drop its needles if allowed to dry out. It looks its best if it is not pruned but allowed to develop its own unique form.
